Amsterdam Future Beatz

Future Beatz was an event in Amsterdam organised in collaboration with ADE, the Amsterdam Dance Event, the city's annual gathering of electronic music, which every autumn spreads club nights, conferences and art programmes across hundreds of venues. As its name and its web3 address suggest, the project brought together electronic music and digital art, at the point where DJs, producers and crypto artists had started working with the same tools and the same collectors.

The announcement poster lists the invited artists in round portraits under the heading Future Beatz Artists, with Federico Clapis in the first position. Alongside him appear the Dutch DJ and producer Don Diablo, Saira Jamieson, No Creative, Marlon Flohr, Sarah Main, Max Osiris, Icki, the artists of the platform thehug.xyz, the Italian crypto art duo Hackatao and Data Vaeda, with more names still to be announced. The setting of the poster, the waterfront of the IJ with the A'DAM Tower in the background, places the event on the north bank of the river.

His presence in a programme of this kind, next to musicians and digital artists, reflects the reach his work had gained beyond the art world, and his long-standing interest in the culture of screens and online communities, which had begun with his own videos on social media before he turned to sculpture and then to crypto art.
